Local food and culture: choose a meaningful experience
What to ask before booking a tasting walk, tea-country visit or craft workshop.

Be specific about what you want to do
A village walk, a demonstration and a hands-on workshop are different experiences. Ask who hosts the visit, how much participation is included and whether an interpreter is needed. Photos illustrate places and traditions; they do not confirm a particular host.
Let season shape the tea experience
Tea fields can be visited at different times, but harvesting and live processing follow seasonal work. If seeing one step is essential, confirm it for your exact dates and discuss an alternative.
Discuss food needs before selecting stops
Tell your planner about allergies, dietary choices, spice preferences and whether cross-contact matters. A quieter sit-down meal may suit some groups better than a busy market tasting route. Specific venues must confirm what they can accommodate.
Make the visit respectful
Ask before photographing people or entering private spaces. Allow hosts to explain their work without turning the encounter into a checklist. Leave time for conversation and ordinary daily life.
