Overview
A six-day private journey linking China's political capital with its commercial hub. In Beijing you see the imperial core — the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, the Temple of Heaven, the Great Wall at Mutianyu and the Summer Palace — before the bullet train carries you south to Shanghai. There the contrasts of old and new fill the days: Yu Garden, Nanjing Road, the former French Concession, Tianzifang and the Bund along the Huangpu. Pacing is comfortable for first-time visitors, with one main cluster of sights per day and leisure time built in after arrivals and transfers. Includes the high-speed train between Beijing and Shanghai, a private vehicle and an English-speaking guide.
