Choose where you want to spend your time
Guilin and Yangshuo serve different parts of the journey. If countryside experiences are central, ask how many nights are actually in Yangshuo rather than assuming a Guilin stay means easy access to every rural activity.
Treat the river journey as transport and an experience
Clarify the starting point, finishing point, duration and luggage arrangements. A cruise, short raft outing and road transfer are different products and should not be treated as interchangeable.
Leave room for a slower day
A countryside walk, food stop and time beside the landscape can fill a rewarding day without adding another long drive. Cycling needs its own suitability and equipment checks.
Have a weather alternative
Rain and river conditions may change outdoor plans. Your planner should describe what can move, what can be replaced and how that affects the agreed arrangements.
