Start with time, not a checklist
With about a week, focus on a small number of places. Our 8-day sample connects Beijing, Xi’an and Shanghai. Ten days allows a Guilin chapter, while a regional journey through Yunnan trades more city changes for longer stays. These are starting routes, not a rule for every traveller.
Count arrival and departure days
An eight-day trip does not mean eight full sightseeing days. Check flight times, station transfers and the first night’s location before adding activities. Keep arrival day light and leave realistic time for your onward journey.
Make costs comparable
Ask whether a quote includes hotels, domestic transport, tickets, meals, guiding, airport transfers and any room supplement. Compare the same number of travellers and the same accommodation level. Our prototype estimates are examples, not live offers.
Bring the unknowns to your planner
You can start without fixed dates or a final budget. Name the experiences you would most regret missing, your comfortable pace and any dietary or access needs. Confirm entry requirements with the official sources before committing to travel.
