How to plan three days in Beijing
A flexible structure for imperial sights, the Great Wall and everyday neighbourhood life.

Day one: choose a city-history chapter
Make the Forbidden City area the focus, subject to tickets and opening arrangements. Keep a neighbourhood walk optional rather than filling every hour. Confirm admission and passport requirements on the attraction’s official booking channel.
Day two: make space for the Great Wall
Choose a section according to walking ability, travel time and the experience you want. Ask about steps, cable-car options, weather alternatives and the return journey. Do not combine a full Wall day with a full city tour.
Day three: choose your own Beijing
Use the final day for a garden, a museum or time in the hutongs. A food or tea stop gives the day a different rhythm. If departure is on the same day, calculate the airport or station transfer before choosing activities.
What to confirm
Your itinerary should name the Wall section, tickets, transfer points and expected walking. Tell the planner about stairs, younger children and any need for frequent rests.
