Overview

Thirteen days linking five of China's most distinctive cities — Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Guilin and Shanghai. In Beijing you walk the Forbidden City and climb the Great Wall at Mutianyu; in Xi'an the Terracotta Army and the old City Wall await. A bullet train then carries you to Chengdu for the giant pandas, and on to Guilin for the Li River and its limestone peaks. The journey ends in Shanghai among the Bund, the French Concession and the garden of Yu. This is a measured trip of roughly two sights per day, suited to travellers who want breadth without haste. Includes the intercity high-speed trains and flight, a private vehicle and an English-speaking guide.
