Guangzhou offers the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, Shamian Island and Canton Tower, plus the glass walkways of Qingyuan Gulongxia. A bullet train then carries you into Hunan for Tianmen Mountain and its natural arch, Furong Ancient Town and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, where the quartz-sandstone pillars rise like those featured in the film Avatar.
