Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Chongqing | Airport Pick-up and Hotel Check-in

Welcome to the start of your 4 Days Chongqing Group Tour! Upon your arrival at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport or the high-speed train station, our local team will warmly greet you at the exit and escort you to your hotel for check-in.

Enjoy Your Free Time: The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Take this time to explore the neighborhood and witness how Chongqing’s ancient mountain culture coexists perfectly with its futuristic night lights.

Day 2

Chongqing Noon Start & Night Tour | Liziba Metro, Kuixing Building, Jiefangbei, Hot Pot Dinner, Hongya Cave, Qiansimen Bridge

Starting at midday, head to Liziba Metro Station (李子坝). You will watch the monorail disappear right into the side of an apartment building! It’s a mind-bending sight that has made Line 2 world-famous. Capture this futuristic scene from the viewing platform.

Next, visit Kuixing Building (魁星楼), the landmark of Chongqing’s "8D cyberpunk" scene, once a sacred site for Qing Dynasty scholars. This architectural marvel defies logic: what feels like a ground-level plaza is actually 22 stories up! Peer over the edge into a dizzying courtyard while facing the mid-section of neighboring skyscrapers.

Later, head to Jiefangbei (解放碑), a 27.5-meter landmark built in 1940 as a powerful symbol of Chongqing’s resilience during WWII. The tower’s base is a time capsule, enshrining newspapers, stamps, and currency from the day it was established. It’s the perfect spot to snap a photo and have your official "Hello Chongqing" moment!

Enjoy a hot pot dinner together! As the birthplace of hot pot, Chongqing is the ultimate place to test your buds against spicy aromas.

Next, we’ll head to Hongya Cave (洪崖洞), a stunning complex of traditional stilted buildings perched along the Jialing River. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and wooden diaojiaolou architecture, it’s the perfect place for a riverside stroll with views of the modern skyline.

When night falls, the entire cliffside lights up in a dazzling display. For the ultimate photo, walk onto the red Qiansimen Bridge (千厮门大桥) to get that famous bird’s-eye view of the glowing structures.

After the tour, be escorted to your hotel in Chongqing downtown area.

Day 3

Chongqing - Wulong - Chongqing | Three Natural Bridges (Sightseeing Bus & Elevator Included), Glass Observation Deck

This morning, drive you to the Wulong Karst National Geological Park (2.5 hours). This UNESCO site features the world-renowned Three Natural Bridges (天生三桥): Tianlong, Qinglong, and Heilong. These massive limestone arches offer breathtaking scenery and gained global fame as a filming location for Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Once you arrive, enter the scenic area and head straight to the glass observation deck for a breathtaking 280-meter-high panoramic view. Afterward, a sightseeing elevator will take you deep into the gorge.

As you hike the trail, you’ll encounter:

Tianlong Bridge (Heavenly Dragon): The largest and most majestic of the three, this towering limestone arch forms a grand natural "gateway."

Tianfu Official Post: Nestled in the valley, this historic Tang Dynasty-style courtyard served as a vital rest stop for officials during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Qinglong Bridge (Azure Dragon): Known as the most photogenic spot, its elegant, slender structure perfectly complements the surrounding emerald cliffs and lush greenery.

Heilong Bridge (Black Dragon): The most serene of the trio, this bridge is defined by its mysterious atmosphere. A tranquil stream flows through the gorge below.

Note:

Footwear: Wear sturdy, comfortable shoes for stairs and uneven terrain.

Hydration/Energy: Carry water and light snacks to stay energized.

Photography: A wide-angle lens captures the gorge’s scale; use a waterproof case near waterfalls.

Clothing: The gorge is cool and damp; dress in layers and bring a light raincoat, especially during the rainy season.

Stay overnight in downtown Chongqing.

Very good with small caveats

A really good trip overall, with just a couple of small things to mention. We loved Hongyadong glowing at night, and our guide knew exactly when to go to beat the crowds. The only small niggle was one slightly dated hotel, but it did not spoil anything. Our guide Frank was outstanding — patient, funny and incredibly knowledgeable.

Best decision we made

Honestly one of the best trips we have ever taken. Helen read our energy perfectly and adjusted the days to suit us. The Yangtze cableway was a real highlight of the trip. The pacing was just right — full days, but never exhausting. We will be back. Thank you to the whole team!

We had a lovely time and would mostly recommend it. Ciqikou old town and the legendary spicy hotpot were the absolute highlights for us. A couple of days felt a little rushed — we would happily have stayed longer in Chongqing.
